Overview

The Saral Sanchar Portal is a unified, web-based platform launched by the Department of Telecommunications to digitally manage telecom and wireless licensing. It enables online application, document submission, tracking, and lifecycle management (renewal, amendment, surrender) of licenses and registrations.

Eligibility

Eligibility for services on the Saral Sanchar Portal depends on the specific license/registration, but broadly applicants must be Indian entities (company, LLP, or organization) registered under applicable laws with valid incorporation documents. They should meet financial, technical, and net worth criteria as prescribed by the Department of Telecommunications for the respective license.

Process Flow

Application Process – Unified Licence (UL)
1. Registration and login on the Saral Sanchar (Telecom e-Services) Portal
2. Selection of Unified Licence service and required authorizations
3. Submission of online application along with necessary documents
4. Payment of applicable fees
5. Scrutiny and processing of application by DoT

Compliance and Security

Compliance with license conditions including security, monitoring and reporting. Provision of Lawful Interception & Monitoring (LIM) as per Government norms. Adherence to FDI policy and national security requirements. Ensuring network security, user data protection and KYC compliance. Use of DSC and maintenance of records, logs and audit trails. Prompt reporting of security incidents or breaches.

'SARALSANCHAR'( Simplified Application For Registration and Licenses) a Web based Portal, for Issuing of various types of Licenses and Registration certificates is part of various Digital initiatives being taken by Department of Telecommunications. It is a unified portal to issue various types of Licenses and registrations in a digitized manner which will not only ensure transparency but also make the process more efficient. This will pave the way for a paperless,secure and hasslefree platform for various applicants.

The following types of Licenses/Authorizations/Registrations/Clearances shall be issued from this portal along with Lifecycle Activities like Renewal/Amendment/Surrender:
