Amateur Station Operator's Certificate or ASOC is the examination that needs to be passed to receive an amateur radio license in India.
Authorisation Fee

means the dissemination of any programme(s) through terrestrial or satellite communication medium or a combination of both, intended to be received by users either directly or indirectly, and all its grammatical variations and cognate expressions shall be construed accordingly;

Base Station Controller-The BSC is responsible for managing and controlling multiple Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) within a given area

Basic Service Operators - They were permitted to offer “limited-mobility” services over Wireless Local Loop (WLL (M)) using CDMA technology in their coverage areas

or “CLS-PoP” means a type of CLS, where some fiber pairs of the submarine cable extended from the CLS are terminated and it houses SLTE;
Call
means a connection established by means of telecommunication that enables voice communication;
Call Charges
Call charges are variable and are used to pay for the cost of the equipment to route a call from the caller's exchange to the recipient's exchange.
Calling Line Identification
or “CLI” means the identity of the calling or originating user in terms of the telecommunication identifier assigned or any other identification as may be specified by the Central Government from time to time;

This is to inform that the acceptance of new applications under Indian Telegraph Act 1885 has been stopped for all kind of Unified Licenses, Unified Licenses (VNO), Standalone Licenses, Registrations, Permissions. Accordingly, the Saral Sanchar Portal and National Single Window System (NSWS) will not accept any new applications for the same.
All applicants who wish to i) obtain any of the above authorisations/ registrations under The Telecommunication Act, 2023, or; ii) migrate the existing licenses/ authorisation granted under Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 to the corresponding authorisations under The Telecommunication Act, 2023 may login to https://eservices.dot.gov.in/authorisation-portal from 25.06.2026 onwards.
This is to inform that the acceptance of all applications including renewals under Indian Telegraph Act 1885 has been stopped for Dealer Possession License (DPL)/ Non-Dealer Possession License (NDPL) and Manufacturing Licence & Testing License. Accordingly, the Saral Sanchar Portal and National Single Window System (NSWS) will not accept any new applications for the same from 03.07.2026 onwards
